RapidPlan Online is a new, web-based application purpose built to assist a wide range of industries in developing simple, high-quality traffic control plans quickly and easily.
It’s the ideal application for small-to-medium businesses with the occasional need for traffic control plans of low-to-medium complexity.
Invarion’s President, Adam Versteegen, explains ”our customers are becoming increasingly mobile, require instant feedback on plans, as well as the ability to collaborate in real time from any device. These are the reasons we developed RapidPlan Online.”

Users can login to the application from any internet enabled device, including an iPad, through their web browser. Traffic control plans can then be designed directly onto satellite imagery provided by Google Maps or Mapbox, or onto a blank canvas. Versteegen continues, “we were finding it increasingly common for customers to use maps and aerial imagery when designing traffic control plans. It was therefore important that our tools start leveraging the abundance of mapping providers available. Giving users the option to choose between mapping providers also helps ensure they have access to the most current maps and imagery available”.
Elements of a traffic control plan, such as pre-loaded signs or delineation devices, can quickly be added using drag-and-drop technology. Once the traffic control plan is complete, it can be simply shared or emailed for approval.
The application’s easy-to-use design and functionality enables traffic control plans to be created within minutes, not hours.
As a web-based application, RapidPlan Online also takes full advantage of the Cloud. Teams can collaborate live during the plan design, revision and approval process – all via the RapidPlan Cloud – saving them time and expediting the entire traffic control plan process. Versteegen explains, “we added plan sharing tools to RapidPlan a number of years ago. RapidPlan Online is the next evolution of that.”
Users can also save and store traffic control plans, and other project documentation, in the Cloud for easy access – whether they’re onsite or in the office. For the first time, workers can manage their road works or events live, and in real time, from a cell phone or tablet. According to Versteegen, “providing a solution that is mobile and accessible across different devices and platforms are all important developments for our customers and the industries we service.”
